Dr. Jeremy Alan Woods
Ennovation Hub Founder & President Dr. Jeremy Alan Woods has over 25 years of experience as an educator, entrepreneur, executive, and consultant. Over the course of his career, he has taught & mentored over 3,000 students, published 20 different peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings papers, and helped generate $20+ million in revenue for innovation initiatives and startups in North America, South America, and Europe. He is an author and coach in the areas of executive decision-making, new venture creation, entrepreneurial project implementation, lead generation, and sales management, and his research is focused on family- and privately-owned entrepreneurial businesses. Dr. Woods is an Associate Professor at California State University Bakersfield (CSUB) and the Managing Director for the university’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI).





Beyond his work with CSUB, Dr. Woods runs a private consulting practice and two local non-profit economic development initiatives. His consulting practice, Ennovation Enterprises, assists select clients in commercializing new venture ideas and technology transfer opportunities, with a particular expertise in standing up and managing sales operations. His non-profit initiatives, The Ennovation Hub and Aerospace Valley Futures, focus on connecting CSUB students from all backgrounds with jobs and promoting quality of life initiatives, respectively, in California's South San Joaquin Valley. Other board members for the non-profit initiatives include Alexia Svejda, Project Coordinator for the Griffiss Institute, David Allen, Senior Staffing Manager for AppleOne Employment Services, and Garret Borunda, a California software development expert who provides project management expertise to select clients through his consulting firm For Goodness Sake Consulting LLC.
In his responsibilities at CSUB, Dr. Woods manages one U.S. Federal Government research grant project and is one of the key personnel on two additional grants. His managed grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) and is focused on building an R&D workforce development pipeline between CSUB's engineering program and Kern County, California's global-leading aerospace sector. The two additional grants for which he is one of the key personnel are both focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into higher education classrooms and curricula as well as into new startup ventures. While the two AI grants are just starting, the EDA grant, near completion, has placed over 10 students into jobs in the aerospace sector, and connected CSUB engineering faculty with aerospace industry partners on 20 new R&D projects, 10 ongoing and 10 planned for rollout over the next year or so. These numbers represent roughly 5 fold and 10 fold increases, respectively, over the numbers CSUB was generating in these two areas prior to our EDA grant work.
Additionally, Dr. Woods leads the CSUB CEI's private donor funded venture accelerator program, which over the past years has helped nearly 50 ventures to generate $4.7m in revenues, $5.4m in equity investment, $7m in grant funding. and create or retain over 50 jobs in the Kern County community.
